The Not So Mother's Day Present

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stupendous Stitching: Adventures in Surface Design »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Women

Style: Funky

Materials

This is my first stab at a Stupendous Stitching project. Batik, yarns, decorative stitches from my machine and hand embroidery.

What was your inspiration?

This was begun as a Mother's Day present, but since it's now June, it is rather belated...Life kinda gets in the way sometimes. But it's beginning to take shape. At first I didn't like it too much - not sure what I objected to, but it just didn't go together quite as smoothly as I thought everyone else's did. As I have filled in with hand embroidery, I've begun to like it more, but have trouble with the hand stitches looking too formulated, I think, rather than scattered.

What are you most proud of?

That I haven't given up! LOL! I am in total awe of the work others taking this class have done.

I'm think you are to be commended because you continue to add hand work. I got frustrated and added more machine work.
