|Here are some details about my project:|
|Style||Formal / Bridal, Retro / Vintage|
What materials did you use? Joann's Casa Collection Glitter Satin with matching Casa Collection lining and broadcloth.
What are you most proud of? I'm not particularly proud of how the midriff fits, I could have used one more fitting -- her waist seam in the back should have been raised and angled another .5" to make the sides lay flat I think. I am like how the bust cups turned out. I enhanced them quite a bit and raised the style line for modesty. I think I am most proud of is something simple -- the hand-picked and beaded zipper.
What advice would you give someone starting this project? I think it was important that I really tried to enjoy the process of making the dress. Set aside the time to watch the video and time to enjoy the art and engineering of the project. I flubbed in a few places, and there were more than three fittings, but watching the dress develop was wonderful.
