What was your inspiration?

I wanted a way for my students to know that every bit of metal clay can be used or recycled in some way!

What are you most proud of?

That it's such a stylish result from such a simple project.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is a great beginner project in metal clay. The texture you get will depend totally on what shape of hammer you use, but all textures look lovely in silver!

You certainly can! That is where a lot of the fun from working in metal clay comes from.. there is no limit to what you can use to texture the clay...commercial stamps, rocks, leaves, wood, anything. And then you can also make molds, and have the ability to make multiples. It's fabulous!

Yes, you can stamp when the clay is wet with rubber or metal. You can gently press a metal stamp into dried clay, or use it with a hammer on fired clay..
