I have had this pattern for some time now and am just not totally clear on the directions ....... when you sew each piece together are you sewing with the wrong sides together and then cutting the little "slits"after to make it rag look ?

Think of a piece of paper. The top piece has writing, face up and the bottom piece has writing face down. Sew a 1/2' seem or however wide/long you want your slits. Once you are 100% completed than you began cutting the slits. Be careful not to cut below your seem line or the material will begin to rip after a few washes.

Yes, wrong sides together and then cut all the edges. Then I throw it in the washing machine. It gets a little messy with all the threads. Then into the dryer. I only let it go for about 2-3 minutes and then clean out the lint filter. After its dry, I take it out and shake it again. They are so nice when they are done. I hope it goes well for you.

I am working on this quilt now! This pattern is no longer available through Simplicity - I had to purchase the pattern from Ebay! I plan on making more of these cute quilts!

I love this quilt. My mom was a big quilter. I have never done one. I am going to try my hand at this one. I want to make three. A niece is having twins in May and my daughter is having one in August. I think I will buy all three patterns. I just hope I have the patience to complete all of them.

What are the dimensions on this quilt? I am thinking about making one for my neighbor, her baby shower is Saturday.

My son is 5'8" and I asked him to hold it up so that I could take a picture of the quilt. It covered him. It is quite large. That is why I like it because it will last the child a long time.

So funny, I saw this on Pinterest and was so surprised because I made this quilt for my daughter 6 years ago, but I made the dog version. I found this pattern when I was pregnant and thought it was sooo cute! It was the first and only thing I have ever sewn, and although it was time consuming, it wasn't too difficult for a beginner! :P The pattern came with a dog, bear, and cat version of the quilt, I believe. Like I said, I made the dog quilt and I used pink and purple fabrics....my daughter LOVES this quilt!!..she sleeps with it almost every night. :)

So this may seem like a silly question but I'm new on here. How do I find the pattern for this? It's extremely precious.
