Materials
I baked, filled, ganached and covered cake in fondant. I used Wilton's black color gel mixed with vodka. It is all free-hand painted, no stencil.
What was your inspiration?
This cake was for a beautiful, hip, punk and tatted up mommy for her pirate themed baby shower. I've always wanted to try a tattoo cake so I jumped at the chance :)
What are you most proud of?
I enjoy drawing more than I do painting. I learned from myself that I can "draw paint" in a very similar way, like in shading and creating depth in a drawing.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Practice Practice! Find something you love...a fabric, card, even a diaper bag, and try to create it!
