Stitching on the binding,
Table runner.

Instructions

If you want me to write a pattern let me know. I haven't done that before.....

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Funky, Mod

Materials

Kona Solids, a variety of threads, just 2 stitches.

What was your inspiration?

This was made from left over fabric from a quilt. The bobbin thread is also a good way to use up all the nearly full bobbin's from other projects.

I just started stitching. I didn't know what I was making and this is what it turned out to be. I like the funky waves of fabric, they don't match except in the color order. I think this could also be used as modern wall art.

What are you most proud of?

I like the satin stitches and the little bit of metallic thread running in various places. I also did a fabulous job machine stitching on the binding if I do say so myself....I love doing that and it is always a bit scary.....

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Its very interesting to look at in person. I am fascinated by it.

Actually the strips were cut straight, then I stitched wavy lines. I kept adding strips. Ironed it good, then added all the stitching after I made it into a sandwich quilt. I was thinking of doing another but instead of binding it, stretching it over a wooden frame to hang on a wall.

That really is stunning. So basically it's just wavy strips joined (are they joined) and then randomly stitched. For something so simple I can understand why you are fascinated with it - so am I.
