What was your inspiration?

I wanted a quick project to practice machine binding.

What are you most proud of?

This is just a small quickie table mat I will give away as a housewarming gift.

Thank you. The quilting was just zig zag and serpentine stitches on the sewing machine. This was very easy and great for a practice piece.

Great job! How did you get your blanket stitch so even on the edge of the binding on both the front and back?

Thank you. I am obsessed with straight cutting, stitching, and pressing. I cut the binding strips at 2-1/2 inch and sewed them on the back just a little over 1/4 inch but not 3/8 inch. Used the walking foot and didn't rush. Now that I've mastered it on a smaller piece I hope I can be successful on something bigger.
