What was your inspiration?
Well, I have finished all my blocks, I have the sashing cut and this is my probably lay out for the finish. Every block is different and I took license with the pattern, inserting strips on some of the blocks. All of the centers are created using the stack and whack method. There was a lot of fussy cutting to get the designs the way I wanted them. Over all I am pleased with the project. I think once it is finished and I photo it outside in the natural light, it will look much different, the lighting on each of the blocks is varied in this composite so the fabric look brighter in some blocks than they actually are.
What are you most proud of?
Each block uses the same components but looks different due to the fabric placement. 2 blocks have strip inserts. I am most proud of the kalidoscopic effects.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Have fun, if you are a beginner, this quilt is not beyond your abilities. I wouldn't recommend trying to do all the fussy cutting, just get a nice all over fabric, not a directional and your quilt top will come out lovely!
