What materials did you use? the colors are more muted, more grey tones of the blues and greens....! I used all cotton fabrics, and cotton thread to stitch. I plan to use a variegated blue and possible greens as well to quilt with. The scary part is the ESS......ALL those seams!!!

I am asking for ideas on how to quilt this....other than stitching in the ditch. the blocks a 10 in all the strips are only one inch.....

This is beautiful!!! I am wondering if you ESS'd the whole thing and left just the blue ditched and did a long row of feathers running diagonally thru the green sections??? That would be a pretty contrast with soft/geometric. The ESSing really isn't all that bad...all the long seams can be done with your walking foot...all the logs in the blocks can be done FMQing with your darning foot. Breathe girl! :)

Thank you, that sounds great! I had a similar thought to accentuate the diagonal green or blue! I am thinking of using variegated green thread for the feathers....will go look for several to audition!

Love the diagonal work with the colors! Very nice!

thank you, before I added the border (I auditioned 6 different ones), I was not happy with the way it looked, the border made the lighter blues come alive and the diagonals stand out....and now I love it!!!
