What was your inspiration?

Last year my granddaughter did the Craftsy Block of the Month quilt. We where looking for a new project and decided on the Sugar Block Club. So far it looks like a clean and simple block. It is sponsored by Stitchery Dickory Dock. It seems to feature modern quilting, which will take us in a new direction.

What are you most proud of?

Jana (age 10) is back to sewing after a spinal fusion on December 12th. She is way ahead in her recovery and back to sewing.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Try some new fabrics for a fresh look.

VERY nice job. My grandaughter (8 years old) loves to watch me sew my quilt blocks. I got her a little sewing machine for Christmas and she is chomping at the bit to begin making her blocks. Will be a while before she gets as good as this though.

That is wonderful. That is about when Jana started. I started her with a little singer. However it was difficult to control the speed. A co-worker got a new machine and sold me her old one so now she has a machine with speed control and she has a 1/4 " foot. We started by just sewing strips together. She made doll quilts. And she did the Craftsy 2012 BLOCK OF THE MONTH. I am sure you will have a great time with your granddaughter. I can't wait to see what she does.

it is a BOM being done by Amy Gibson @ Stitchery Dickery Dock. Amy did the Crafsty BOM for 2012. This is just one block a month and a recipe. It is 7.95 for the year. So far I think it won't be too complicated.
