Instructions
I asked my daughter to sign an empty space before I did the hand embroidery step so I could embroider her name on this wall hanging gift for her.Difficulty:
Category: Quilting
Type of item: Home Decor
For: Other
Style: Cute
Materials
100% cotton quilting fabric, copper metallic rick-rack trim, pearl trim, embroidery floss, various embroidery & sewing threads
What was your inspiration?
My daughter's college dorm room needed a little added color. (at orientation she was told that she could paint her dorm room any color she liked ... just as long as that color was white! lol!)
I chose the colors for this project based on her comforter & curtain colors.
What are you most proud of?
My daughter just loves this wall hanging!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Adding a name to the project personalized it for her...but the name was written a bit small...next time I would enlarge the signature on a copier & transfer it to the fabric before embroidering...there was a bit of extra embellishment needed in the area of the name to keep the name from disappearing into the sea of other hand embroidery stitches.
