This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Jam & Marmalade the Blue Chair Way »

Instructions

I have made jam during the summer for the last 10 years. Without a doubt this was the easiest approach and resulted in the best jam I have ever made.

Difficulty:

Category: Food & Cooking

Type of item: Food

For: Home

Style: Traditional

Materials

Strawberries, sugar and lemon juice

What was your inspiration?

Seeing Rachel making her jam and walking me through how it would look during all the steps made me eager to try my hand with a new recipe. Rachel's explanation of how the cooking process would occur also gave me the perfect excuse to go out and buy a gorgeous copper pan (how often does that happen).

What are you most proud of?

The jams color and texture is absolutely perfect. For the last week I have made everybody who comes to my house sit down for tea and biscuits just so I have an excuse to make them try this jam.

Now I am counting the days until rasberry season.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have fun and listen closely to Rachel. She shares a wealth of information in this class.

I purchased mine last summer at Sur La Table for about $350. I noticed the price has done down - and believe you can purchase the pan for as little as $250. Blue Chair offers one through their siite.
