What materials did you use? Quilting cotton

What advice would you give someone starting this project? This is still a work in progress - I wish I had done the layering differnetly as the fabric on the base is too flowery and seems too prominent. I may be able to work something out. If doing it again I would look more carefully and decide on which way to layer it in a different way.

I like the back color/pattern - If you were to change anything perhaps had a solid instead of another pattern - this would break up the patterns and background and you could accent say the yellow or the green or a complimentary color like a blue or orange...I would say make another one!!! They are so fun!

After much stash searching and thought I have decided to leave it as is. I am going to try some over stitching and maybe add a few contrasting buttons to break up the flowers and just see how it ends up!

Hmmm, I really like the prominent back layer (bold & pretty). From your photos it looks like the layers all dance together with the dark thread/yarn on top.
