Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. White canvas board; acrylic paints in variety of grays, yellows, reds, browns, white, ultramarine blue & purple. #4,6 filibert, #2 round, #2 script liner, #10 bristle bright.

What are you most proud of? To experiment, I used cling-wrap on the dark background color, pressing it to the wet paint, then lifting; it made a nice textured background. (Hard to see in photo.)

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just go for it...it's more fun if you don't agonize over making it "look right". I'm just painting as a hobby, and am no expert, but I have had fun with some nice things.

Love the combination of the red's, oranges and purples together, really gives the painting a great punch of colour! You and the others who have posted their still lives here have inspired me to take a break from the landscapes and give a still life a shot.

Thanks, jillych! I think I'm better at landscapes, but every so often I push myself to try another still life :) I like trying to "see" things like the light reflections and try to paint them in... Sometimes they come out ok! LOL! It's all fun!
