What is exciting or interesting to you about your photo(s)? The picture shows an intimate landscape of what might appear to be innocent stepping stones over a tranquil stream but are in fact World War Two tank traps on a coastal marsh in Suffolk, England

Can you tell us about any special equipment or techniques that you used? Canon 60d with Sigma 17-70mm Zoom lens set at about 40mm.

A very interesting picture. I live in Suffolk, but haven't a clue where these are. As in your Carlton landscape, the colours give the photograph impact with the contrast between the stones and the water making the subject stand out.

Patz, Thank you for your kind comments on my project..The Tank traps are on the marsh at Shingle street on the Suffolk Coast. Drive to the end of the road park by the martello tower and take the footpath to the coastal path, heading south they can be seen on the left of the path by the Alderton Martello. This is an interesting place to be within sight of 4 martello towers. Best wishes, Geoff

This is a fascinating story that cannot be told simply by the photograph. Most of the time, we want to tell the story in the photo so that the viewer can understand the image without a lot of explanation from the photographer (if the photographer is doing a lot of explanation, that usually means he/she has not been successful in creating a composition that communicates well to others). However, in this case, the explanation is important and gives a synergistic sort of effect that gives the photo more impact.
