What was your inspiration?
My friend was making an American flag quilt and it got me thinking!
What are you most proud of?
I love the Americana look of the flag. I teach this as a class and it's quite popular. Some of my students have adapted the technique to make big flags - and one made this out of Breast Cancer Awareness fabric!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Share fabric so you don't have to buy as much. I had every student bring one cream and one red fat quarter. We traded, so each stripe was out of a different fabric.
