What materials did you use? Pure cotton fabric designed by Kaffe Fassett; Mettler cotton thread; Hobbs polyester wadding (batting)

What are you most proud of? The cheerful brightness of the finished quilt is very uplifting. In fact, before we show visitors into our guestroom where the quilt lives, we suggest that they may like to put on their sunglasses first!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? It's an easy pattern and goes together very quickly if you chain-piece the various sections of fabric. There are several ways the blocks can be arranged, so have fun finding the one you like best! I think I shall use this pattern again, but with less colours to see how it comes out.

This is a totally lovely scrappy quilt. It is a cheerful project.

What a gorgeous quilt!!!

Thank you! It looks far more difficult than it actually was -it went together in no time at all with no complications whatsoever.

Can this be done with jelly roll?

11/30/2014 Flag

Definitely. The pattern specifies a jelly roll (normally 40 strips), but I made the quilt a bit bigger as the two jelly rolls I had (one bright and one pastel) were of only 30 strips each. I had sufficient strips left over to make another, smaller, quillo.
