What materials did you use? Upholstery fabric, staples, cording, basic sewing supplies.

What are you most proud of? The results of our efforts were as I had pictured.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? We used the old covering for a pattern and we were lucky that the pattern repeat in the new fabric was the same as the old. Advice? measure, measure and measure again. If the patterns don't match, you will not be happy with the result. If you are unsure about being able to match patterns, stay away from stripes and plaids, etc.

You and your husband did a fabulous job. I've only tried relatively easy things like Parsons benches and box cushions for a window seat. I even took an (useless) upholstery class. Would you do it again?

Sure, as long as there was a need and as long as my husband agreed to help. This type of project really does work better with two.

We have an old sofa circa 1930's at our cottage that I've been eyeing for several years as a potential project. Would you and your husband like a bartered vacation to Saskatchewan?
