What was your inspiration?
I took a job in a different place for several years and we rented our home including most of the furniture. The sofa was almost new when we left. When we returned, the renters cats had destroyed the cover on the upholstery on the sofa; so, we (I and my husband) tackled the job of recovering it. We had only done one of such project, but we proceeded as if we knew what we would doing.
What are you most proud of?
The results of our efforts were as I had pictured.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
We used the old covering for a pattern and we were lucky that the pattern repeat in the new fabric was the same as the old. Advice? measure, measure and measure again. If the patterns don't match, you will not be happy with the result. If you are unsure about being able to match patterns, stay away from stripes and plaids, etc.
