Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Fun & Fancy Flakes No. 3 »

Difficulty:

Category: Other

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Whimsical, Cute, Classic, Retro / Vintage, Holiday

Materials

Crochet cotton, size 10, a size 8 (1.5mm) steel crochet hook, foam core board, plastic wrap, fabric stiffener, paper towel, and rust-proof straight pins. Optional materials: assorted ribbon, jump rings, crystal beads, clear glitter paint, ornament hangers, and small suction cups

What was your inspiration?

Snowflakes are my favorite project to make. I love the intricacy of snowflakes and that no two snowflakes are the same!

What are you most proud of?

I enjoy playing around with the different stitches to see each pattern take shape. The snowflakes are also very versatile: they can be used for ornaments, gift decorations or even window hangers.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Snowflakes are a great project for the intermediate crocheter. Be sure to keep track of which step you're on in each of the rounds.

This snowflake is part of the Fun & Fancy Flakes No. 3 pattern set. It is written in U.S. terms.

Thank you so much! I chose the color to match some "snowflake" gift bags I found. I really liked the way the red turned out!
