Snoopy Quilt

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Charity

Style: Whimsical, Casual, Cute

Materials

100% cotton fabrics, batting, thread

What was your inspiration?

Many, many years ago I purchased the Snoopy fabric at a fabric store. I enlarged 4 of the drawings and "thread painted" them onto white fabric. I chose the two colors (lilac and lime green) to fill in the spaces and to add some design. I quilted paws onto the solid color blacks and outline quilted the large Snoopy characters.

There was no pattern for this. I just made it up.

What are you most proud of?

I'm most proud of the fact that I gave it up to charity. I wanted this quilt so badly for myself. I hated to give it up. I even tried bidding on it, but the bidding got too high for me to afford.

Did you make this by a pattern? If you did would you care to let me know where you purchased it? My 36 yr old daughter has loved Snoopy all her life! Ruth Ann McCarter

Gorgeous quilt, always been a Peanuts fan, so this "grabbed" me immediately. Where did you get the fabric from?

How do you thread paint something? Do you enlarge it and then just sew over outline? Or is there more to it than that? Just learning any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Beautiful quilt!

I'm so sorry. I didn't see your comment until just now! If I remember correctly, it was basically as you put it: enlarged and sew over the outline. I try to keep things as simple as possible :)

I'm a Snoopy fan from way back. Still have original stuff from the 1970's...calendars, toys etc. You've given me inspiration to enlarge some of the images and do my own quilt...when I've finished the king size beach quilt for my daughter and snuggle rug for a girl friend...hahahaha.

I'm sure you could! With today's technology you could print right onto some muslin fabric and go from there :-D
