|Here are some details about my project:|
Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. I followed the teacher's advice pretty much to what he said. I did switch to a 'painterly' mode in the background though. I wish I would have done the shadowed 'stems' better. The one I have is way too thin. Please note that my photo doesn't show the colors very well. The background is a rich jade color, not blue.
What are you most proud of? I like the top background flower the best and the fact that I resurrected the rose from oblivion. Oh, and also that I finished the painting!
What advice would you give someone starting this project? I made an error in the outlining. I used a watercolor pencil and when the water hit it, got a little freaked out by the dark lines so I 'erased' the lines. That made it quite hard to get the original shape of the rose again. Next time I will know better. :-)
