enjoyed making my shawl, i loved following the instructions, speaking for my self its a challenge, but i found after a couple of rows in each section i learned very quickly almost off by heart using stitch markersin some sections.

What was your inspiration?
my inspiration is always my name sake above the most wonderful mother in law a girl could of had
nolly a young dutch girl a clothing designer before the war, had her own business, one story i like to tell is that she went to Paris to get a bolt of fabric for her shop { she loved to call it her shop} she caught the last train as the invasion of Paris was happening at the other end that's how much she loved her sewing and all other crafts she ventured in to,,, then migrating to aust, i was fortunate to find her in my life
having married her son.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?
do courses, ask questions read sewing book( couture where you can}, if only when i was young we had the Internet,
this generation surely has more opportunities than we had,,, imagine buying your fabric and yarn and thread from any where you choose with out leaving home.
and don't be discouraged by the sewing police but make sure an Iron is always part of every sewing you do and block your knitting.if you take a photo of an ironed garment re sewing you will see the difference Iron each seam as soon as you sew it,.
