This is a disappearing 9 patch that I just had fun adding to.Difficulty:
Category: Quilting
Type of item: Functional
For: Children
Style: Whimsical
Materials
Not sure on the exact yardage, but I cut my squares into 5" squares. I used my Altos cutting board. Olfa rotary. Brother sewing machine. Gingher scissors. I used several different patterns of fabric. There is Batman, Spiderman, Lightnin' McQueen, robots, Monster trucks and a solid yellow for my center square.
What was your inspiration?
I love doing this for my family. My grandson needed a blanket for school. Since I kinda know how to make them, I would rather do that and put my love and affection into it rather than purchasing a mass produced one.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the fact that I started this project around 7:30pm and finished around 12am or so. It was a rush job, but he loves it and I am really proud of it.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't wait until the last minute. Cutting those squares, then sewing them, then cutting the blocks. This takes a long time.
