What are you most proud of? I am proud to have attempted this project. As I post it, I see things that should have been shaded less, darkened, have less texture and lightened quite a bit. In seeing those things, I know I am learning much from this class.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I am posting this as my "final" try at sketching this painting. It was too ambitious for me at this time with the knowledge I have. I would like to pick it up later to see how much more I have learned.

Hello Lisaper, I cannot commend you enough for posting this project and for your comments. It was an ambitious undertaking and a much-improved project from your previous one. Although not completely successful; nonetheless, you have learned a great deal and you have done another drawing. Also, this experience has spurred you to the next drawing. Your insight, awareness, and appreciation of Cole's intent indicates intelligent industry and much of that came from your delight, with the understandable frustrations, in the making. Look forward to your next posting.

Mr. Connors, Thank you for your encouragement. At last I am able to sketch outside. It has cooled enough that I can tolerate the temperature and the rattlesnakes aren't so feisty. I walked through some of our trails, we have 32 acres here, and choose an area my grandchildren and I play in. I look forward to posting a "live" sketch of this place.
