What was your inspiration?
My mom use to make ponchos for all the girls in the family (back in the 70's) She was righty and I am lefty... so when it came to teaching me, it was very difficult for her. So she enlisted the help of her sister (my godmother) and between the two of them, I learned the basics. Since then I just make up my own patterns.
What are you most proud of?
My mom, for raising 4 kids alone and still finding time to crochet the most beautiful articles of clothing and blankets for all of us.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Take your time. Have fun with it. These colors work with just about anything. Each flower is done differently to give the entire outfit a different look with each piece.
