What materials did you use? Cotton material, Flannel, thread (stuff I already had handy)

What are you most proud of? I am really proud of the fact that I finished these with my sewing machine having so many problems. I just have a cheap sewing machine my husband picked up at a local "one stop shopping" store. I am a beginning sewer so I was reading my manual and learning how to troubleshoot and make adjustments. I also took the free craftsy class on different sewing machine feet and bought a quarter inch foot for mine. I used it on this project and it made everything so easy!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I feel it is a little too small. It is hard to tell if it is printing to scale (as they designed it) or if it is printing smaller. I think I'm going to see if I can enlarge the scale for my next set before printing. Also, I took a little class at a local sewing store and learned a nice trick to make the seams look nicer. After you sew the first 1/4" seam with the right sides of the fabric together, trim the seam to half its width all the way around to make it smoother and less bulky. Also, using a chopstick to run along the edges on the inside after turning helps the seams turn all the way and makes the curves look really nice. I didn't have any chop sticks (I eat my asian food with a fork LOL) so I just use anything long and skinny. This time I grabbed a shish-kabob skewer. They are not as sturdy but it still did the job. You can also use a pen with cap on or not "clicked' - anything plastic and kinda pointy but blunt will do the trick.... just needs to be long enough.

Simple for a quilter with a little experience but Very cute and practical. Add a few coordinating bibs and a baby quilt and you have an awesome gift for a special new Mom's baby shower. With the curves and turning you are learning several quilting steps.
