Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. This is a resketch of my last picture, using the same materials. I did it really fast, but tried to take note of your comments. Please don't be too distracted by the border -- I thought it still too dark (I used marker), and tried to make it lighter by covering it with tape. I worked from a photo. It is often too hot or too cold here (Austin TX) to work outside. But I will try the next decent day.

Hello joygilcrease, This drawing is an improvement over the last one in that the spatial structure is convincing. You did well with the previous suggestions and criticism. The elimination of the flattening aspects so that now the linear and tonal constructions contribute to the concept of space. There is one interesting thing that I wonder if you did purposefully: The raising of the eye-level line. This makes the scene depicted look as if the path is going uphill or on an incline. The inclusion of a reference image assisted me in the critique. All-in-all a success. Do not worry about going outside, it is more important that you draw whether from a photographic image or from a window. I look forward to seeing the posting of your next drawing.
