Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: I used the idea of how to make a cake have an antique finish and used it on the bottom layer. We wanted it to look like wood but customized the colors to have a shabby chic feel. We used the sponging method to color the cake. The flowers were also made by us using gumpaste and food color dust. The doily cut outs were made out of gumpaste and we used a cricut machine.
