Serendipity

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stupendous Stitching: Adventures in Surface Design »

Instructions

This project was so fun to do because there were no rules! I simply let my imagination run wild and let each decorative element lead me to the next step.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Funky

Materials

Batik fabric, assortment of cording and decorative fibers, lots of great threads.

What was your inspiration?

I just let myself be led by colors and textures and stumbled into a happy design.

What are you most proud of?

I'm happy that I tried so many new techniques. For instance, the rattail binding is a great finishing touch. I'm excited to start another project.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make the effort to create your stitch bible. It was worth the time because I now have a wonderful stitch reference. It provided practice for some of the techniques needed on the actual project.
