What was your inspiration?
I decided to do a swatch, rather than make the Seed Stitch Cambridge Scarf that utilizes the first three stitch patterns in my swatch. I didn't need another scarf and I knew that all I really needed was to practice the three stitch patterns for a few rows.
I had fun with switching stitch patterns as the yarn color changed. The orange section is the K1, P1 seed stitch. The brown is the K2, P2 seed stitch. And the white section is the classic basket weave stitch (K4,P4).
What are you most proud of?
That I realized that the basic knitted prayer shawl pattern (K3, P3) is simply another variation of the seed stitch and basket weave stitch. So I decided to include a fourth stitch pattern on my swatch to try this out.. (Cream color at top)
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Have fun and experiment.
