You can order just the pattern, but I purchased the kit. It came with every thing including the backing and the crystals used for the fish eyes and the turtle necklaces.
What was your inspiration?
I saw this hanging in a friends foyer and I knew I just had to do it too.
What are you most proud of?
There was a lot of applique to this and I had never done any thing with so many pieces. Each step was a challenge for me. Getting all the pieces layered correctly and ironed on. The next step going around each appliqued piece with gold metallic thread and then the free motion quilting on the top. I think this turned out nice and I am very proud of it. It hangs in my bathroom where the theme is tropical.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Take a deep breath and go slow. If you are experienced with applique it will be no problem.
