What materials did you use? A colorful quilt constructed from 2.5 inch wide scraps in various lengths. Printed cotton fabrics. Long arm quilted with cotton batting.

What are you most proud of? This is my third month using a long arm machine. The Craftsy courses have effectively reduced my learning curve I'm still terrified of stitching feathers--HOWEVER, I've been able to coax myself into stitching echoed tear drop shapes. These tear drop shapes (feathers) were extensions I added to swirls. Sometimes I stitched the tear drops around the swirl (like one would do with feathers around a wreath). The tear drops and swirl combination made it possible to change directions FAST and efficiently. Practice, practice, practice. I figure if I can stitch tear drops in every direction, then I know I'll soon be fearless with feathers on a long curved stem. If you don't mind--I'll post more (detail) photos of the stitching on this quilt. There were so many good photos--it was difficult to choose just six for this post.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Craftsy courses make learning free motion quilting fun. May I suggest several subjects and courses that really helped me? I always envy a little bit seeing such amazing project. A great way to tidy and create more colorful quilts.

SO pretty. I am inspired now. Once I get moved and unpacked later this month I am going to see how many scraps I have and get started. I may have to "find" some scraps....he he he. We don't need to tell my husband that though. Truly a beautiful quilt. And the quilting looks great to me! :)

Your scrappy quilt sure has a nice combination of color. It's rich, a bit fanciful, and looks like your work. Lovely!
