Materials

Sshhh don't tell Sassy, but it's Sew Catty fabric by RJR and Crazy Paua

What was your inspiration?

Wanted something bright and a bit sassy for the Sassy one ;-)

What are you most proud of?

Got it finished in time for Christmas! What am I least proud of... the quilting was very rushed... but I did ESS it, and I mean EVERY seam including the border! I am still tempted to undo the quilting and redo it but Sassy says it's ok... she says I can do better on her next one ;-)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Allow more time for the quilting LOL!

Rusty eyes my first quilt and gets all excited when i put it across my knees when too lazy to light the fire. A few weeks ago I was test driving another quilt for warmth, as my one has wool batting, and this one didnt. he was like 'woohoo another blanket, patted it all around me, like he gave it his seal of approval, but for good warmth, I would use wool batting especially in our winters.

Well, so far, Wallace has 3 chair covers, and one old quilt I keep on the sofa so I think there could be more in his future - he'll have to wait until I find a pattern I want to try out!! Sassy definitely needs more! LOL!

Love your quilt! Lucky Sassy! Is the pattern the diss appearing nine patch? It looks great! Hey, I just read that it is! Love the way it looks. Did you lay our the squares in a particular manner so that you have all your turquoise in strips and the bright colors in squares? Must have! Again, love it! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks, and thanks for answering your own questions LOL. My 9 patch layout was paua or pink in the corners, turq in between and odd square in the centre. Then I cut them and arranged them so that there were no seams matching... and so got the turq arms effect. Neat eh!
