Sassy Kitty Blouse

inside sleeve treatment

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Sassy Librarian Blouse »

Instructions

I thought the pattern ran large. When you take your measurements, if the sizing chart size seems large to you, I'd go with your regular size. Make sure to do a muslin - I had a lot of fitting issues.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Retro / Vintage

Materials

Vintage cotton.

What was your inspiration?

I haven't made a garment in a long time and wanted to brush up on my fitting and sewing skills. BTW - I don 't know why my pictures are showing up sideways!

What are you most proud of?

The fit and the way I finished the inside. I used french seams throughout and made contrasting bias tape to finish the hems on the bottom of the blouse and the sleeves.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't skip the muslin. This isn't a fitting class, so you might have to go to outside resources if you have fitting issues.

Adorable! And you got fancy with the French seams! Great job.

I like the finishing details you used on the seams and hems, especially the bias tape. You say that you had many fitting issues. You must have solved them all because it looks very nice. Now that you have the fitting done, will you be making another blouse?

Oops! HIt enter too soon. Meant to say, I plan to make another blouse in a solid neutral color to wear to work. Thanks!
