Yarn ends from Walmart. I think it's probably a worsted weight white mohair with a metallic strand. The original pattern called for Rowan Kidsilk Haze. When I googled it, I found that it was a DK or light worsted (heavier than sport). I thought the yarn I was using would qualify, but found that it used much more of my yarn than was called for in the pattern and that my wrap was much bulkier.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If you go to Amazon, you can find the book. The cover picture is the same wrap as the pattern I used, so you can see it looks quite a bit different with a lighter weight yarn. You would be hard pressed to duplicate my wrap. When I ran out of yarn, I contacted numerous yarn manufacturers and went into specialty stores and could not find anything similar. That's one of the risks of using yarn ends.
