What was your inspiration?
A number of years ago I saw a woman at an airport wearing a thick, ruffled scarf/cowl! I thought it was so chic, but was selling for almost $200! Ouch! Here is my, much less expensive version! Feel free to use the decadent luxury yarns! Yum!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
It's no secret that I love super bulky yarns and easy patterns with spectacular results! This is all of that! You won't believe how easy this chic cowl is! You need to know how to knit, purl and yarn over!
The pattern calls for circular needles because of the bulk of the project, but you will be knitting back and forth like you do on your straight needles. If you have not tried circular needles, this is a good project to start using them, even though you are knitting back and forth!
This simple pattern has chic results at approx. 49" L x 9" W!
