I used the Moda collection by Holly Taylor called "Migration". I purchased the jelly roll first and they went shopping online for the coordinating fabrics to this line since I couldn't find it locally.
What was your inspiration?
My dad would be turning 90 by May 2011 and I wanted a very special Christmas gift for him. Since I was new to quilting I thought I would make him a special quilt to snuggle up with on a cold night.
What are you most proud of?
That my dad loved the quilt and that it will be a family heirloom when it will be passed down to his great grandson (age 4 - Jul 11) who helped me quilt it. He called it "Papa's Quilt".
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Read the directions of having light and dark fabrics and making sure that you have enough from your jelly roll. If you don't then order fabric that can be cut into the strips that you need.
