What I started with

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Sewing With Knits: 5 Wardrobe Essentials »

Instructions

Three unwanted knit shirts provided me with enough fabric to make two of these t-shirts. Only one has the buttons on the front, though!

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Whimsical, Funky

Materials

Three recycled T-shirts from Goodwill

What was your inspiration?

I love recycling! Meg, our instructor said to go out and look for knit fabrics to practice on, and so I went to Goodwill, as there are no good fabric stores near me. I really liked the green stripe fabric in that men's shirt, so I started with that.

What are you most proud of?

How inexpensive the project was, yet I really like the results.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Pick fabrics you like and worry about fitting them together later. I didn't have a piece big enough for the back, so I pieced two fabrics together and then cut that out using the pattern. It's all good!

Very creative! It turned out great. I love the colors and the idea of using mens shirts too.
