What was your inspiration?

Buttercream iced wedding cakes - was unable to take a picture set up at reception hall (they picked up cakes instead of me delivering) so all I got was a quick pic in the kitchen. Simple cake designs, buttercream iced with diamond print design and scrollwork. Buttercream roses and little gold paper leaves. Thanks for looking! :) Lisa

These cakes are lovely. I love the simplicity of them. They're simple but completely tasteful, elegant, and first class all the way. I'm curious though, how are "reception" cakes different than a wedding cake? This is the first time I've seen a grouping of cakes be labeled as reception cakes.

Thanks! I didn't know what to call these cakes because this coulpe had gotten married at a destination wedding - already had a wedding reception there and were now back in the states. A relative decided to have a little reception here for family that hadn't gotten to go. So, I didn't know what to call them! lol I guess, they could techniquely be called wedding cakes!
