Style: Traditional
Materials
100%cotton fabric
What was your inspiration?
Kaye England's repiecing the past class.
What are you most proud of?
I was really impressed with Kaye's sashing suggestions, but didn't like them when applied to my blocks. I simplified them to a simple two inch grid of mostly plain blocks. There are lots of half square triangles in grey and blue to represent the soldiers, a few pinwheels to represent conflict (with a little red close by), and two friendship stars. I couldn't find fabric that didn't die in the border, so I used one inch piano keys instead. Am still wondering how to quilt it, but I know that there will be vertical paths for sure.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Follow Kaye's advice. I loved her no press until done method, but did resort to pins at intersections.
