Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Accessory

For: Unisex

Style: Cute, Whimsical

Materials

Cotton fabric, batting, medium interfacing, timtex, magnets

What was your inspiration?

Tweaking my iPad case design, and Heather Ross's Far Far Away fabrics are amazing! I'm working on creating a pattern for this.

What are you most proud of?

Some pictures make the shaping look wonky, but it's really not. I'm so proud of how well done it came out. :D The "fussy cut" button covering the magnetic snap closure cracks me up. I love how disgruntled and disapproving Rapunzel looks!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take your time, make sure your measurements are careful. Use strong, high quality magnets. Also, a walking foot for thick top-stitching is a lifesaver.

Does the magnet interfere with the ipad. Usually you are not supposed to get magnets near computers, technical items.

Luckily, the iPad has a solid state drive. The magnets are totally harmless, and super helpful! :)

LOVE IT!!! Where can I purchase your pattern? What type of magnetics do you use? The magnetics do not affect the electronics?
