Quilting: Random Purple Baby Quilt

Random Purple Baby Quilt

Instructions

I sewed the squares into 9 patch blocks, then sewed them together. Very simple.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Food

For: Children

Style: Cute

Materials

Cotton fabric, polyester (high loft) batting.

What was your inspiration?

My husband dared me to piece a "random" quilt ... no planning and no switching blocks if 2 of the same fabric touched. It drove me crazy (I'm a little bit of an OCD quilter ...), but I do like the end result.

What are you most proud of?

There are two squares of the same fabric touching, but I didn't rearrange anything and just let it go.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Pick fabric you love and just start piecing.

I love purple and so I think this a great quilt. Good job. I also cannot really do random piecing... It ends up being "calculated randomness" so I applaud you rising to your husband's challenge. Cheers!

I keep telling him "random with structure" is okay and he just rolls his eyes at me. I keep daring him to make a quilt himself. Maybe one of these days he'll take me up on it. :-)
