Pattern info for this project can be found here:
Rainbow Quilt »

Instructions

The books are available on amazon under Kaffe Fassett books on amazon.com and the one I used was called Country Garden. Most of the fabrics can be purchased either on ebay.com or quilthome.com.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Mod, Cute

Materials

Fabric and quilting tools. Batting, sewing machine to quilt it up since you simply follow around the squares or cris-cross them. See special inst for where to buy fabric and book.

What was your inspiration?

Kaffe Fassett's Country Garden book. I fell in love with this one and ordered his fabric. It was farily easy. My daughter -in- love wanted it but it is on our bed here in the house in AZ where we live year round. I don't see many rainbows unless it rains which isn't often. So, I love this one on our bed. It is a queen topper.

What are you most proud of?

That I still have it. It isn't available anymore. I feel blessed to own it!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I could help a bit by finding the pattern book and emailing some instructions but the fabric may not be for sale anywhere since they are not in production. Kaffe doesn't always sell the same fabrics year after year and there isn't any way to get them unless one can find them as vintage on eBay. That is the only thing to do. Look on eBay.

Ummmm, this is BEAUTIFUL!!! I would love to learn to quilt. It scares me! I have a long, rich history of quilters, but none of them passed it on to us.

Sorry I did not reply til now. busy....well, I wish I could teach you. I taught myself with a good quilting book and a flannel kit, not recommended for first timers, but it turned out great! Hand tied it. No machine quilting til later. Start simple work up to harder in time. I recommend A-Z Quilting Book from amazon.com Bye now! Lin
