Instructions

Apply Steam A Seam II Light to backs of Eagle fabrics before cutting. Applique is raw edge and stitched down with a tiny blanket stitch. The sewing blocks are simply made up of a nine-patch, slashed in half vertically and then horizontally, and then the quarters are rearranged so that the 2 tiny blocks in the center are all slanting in the same direction (see photo). I added sashing.

What was your inspiration?

Eleanor Burns show on PBS

What are you most proud of?

Finishing the top in time for the Quilts of Honor quilters to get it to a ceremony. This pieced top will have borders added to bring it to the acceptable size for Quilts of Honor.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Size the corner blocks to match whatever interior blocks you make. (and take clearer photos...)

Thanks!! I'm new to quilting: II just keep plunging in and having fun. The "shake it up" 9-patch blocks are SO easy and addictive, I just love to make them.

I wish the eagles were clearer. The photo does not do this piece justice at all.

I know. But the quilt is gone :-( Thanks for the nice compliment, though!
