Book: Pretty Quilled Cards
"kate" is a project I made for my recently released quilling book, Pretty Quilled Cards. Flowers were placed on top of cut letters, which are floating above the background teal cardstock.
Can you give me some tips to make this project successful? How thick are the pieces of paper used for quilling or I should say how wide. Do I use the same glue I would use for scrapbooking? How long should thee paper be for say the green bits?
Hi Sue, I used the standard quilling strip width of 1/8 inch. I prefer to use Aleene's Tacky glue because it's not watery so bonds quickly, allowing me to place my quilled items faster. http://www.amazon.com/Aleenes-Original-Tacky-Glue-4-Ounce/dp/B005Z463A2/ref=as_sl_pc_tf_mfw?&linkCode=wey&tag=crafting0d2-20 The font size and green bit measurements can all be found in my book, Pretty Quilled Cards. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1454707844/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1454707844&linkCode=as2&tag=crafting0d2-20 I hope you'll let me know how this project goes for you!
Hi I am new to Craftsy and I would like to know if you have templates for the letters as my drawing skills are far less than my quilling skills and they are limited as well.
Welcome to Craftsy and to quilling! No, I don't have templates for the letters because I just typed them into my computer and traced what I printed out. I re-sized it until I got the sizes I wanted to spell the name. If you visit my blog, I do offer a letter B template and a series of in depth tutorials on quilling letters that may help you.
