Quick Strip Piece Paper Piecing

LOVE to Paper Piece

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Quick-Strip Paper Piecing »

Instructions

Yes, Use the tip in Peggy's book about reducing the bulk in the center of the stars. This helps so much when being machine quilted.

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Girls

Style: Whimsical

Materials

I used Batiks on these patterns. They are extremely nice on paper piecing projects.

What was your inspiration?

I absolutely Hated paper piecing before I took Peggy's class and now I just can't get enough of it. Her class and her books are just easy to understand and the results..well they speak for themselves. I have both of her books and waiting on her to do another. These were taken from both of her books. She is an excellent teacher.

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud that I finished it for my granddaughter when she graduates and that I am not afraid to turn any paperpiece pattern into a Quick Strip Paper piecing project. Once I learned this method I won't do it any other way. Thank you so much Peggy!!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take your time and think about how the piece will flip open. Take care to watch your pieces that point up. Listen to the tips and get the books. I think they are only available on e books. Ask Peggy though, she may have some left.

Thank you all for the nice comments. Like I said I absolutely HATED paper piecing before I took Peggy's class. She has opened up a new world for me. I have been taking other patterns and using her technique doing them without any problem. Thanks again.

I LOVE how your sampler top has come together! It's so exciting to see blocks from this class as well as from both my books all working together in one project. You did a fabulous job with your colors and fabrics - very nice work!

I always put it on my design wall and just look at it for a while and decide if I am happy with everything. I am going to turn it over to my quilter and let her have at it. She is wonderful and I have never been disappointed with her work.
