Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stitch & Slash »

Instructions

I wanted to see what effect the use of striped fabric would have - I quite liked it - especially for a first attempt. I used only fabric I had in my stash.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Home

Style: Casual

Materials

All cotton fabric and decorative stitching.

What was your inspiration?

The Craftsy Course and the challenge of cutting into your fabric.

What are you most proud of?

Instead of just watching the course, I actually completed a project.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I would use Batik fabric next time as indicated in the course material. I used cotton fabric from my stash and it takes a while to get used to the excessive fraying. I do like some fraying, so the finer fabric would be more suitable. My slasher was sharp and I think it would do even better with Batiks. My friend made a gorgeous cushion cover using one large circle and it looks great and is very different.
