Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:
heart pattern from redheart yarn online

Instructions

once the hearts are finished, rather than sew them together, i used white yarn and put my needle through both hearts lined up and did 2 dc in each set of stitches, making a ruffled 'lace' around the heart & also crocheting it together, when you have about 3 ", stuff heart, then crochet closed

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Romantic, Cute, Whimsical, Holiday

Materials

various scrap yarns

What was your inspiration?

i made my daughters stuff crocheted hearts when they were young, so i thought i would continue the tradition with their daughters as well

What are you most proud of?

finding a pattern that worked, then adding the 'lace'

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

be sure to follow the pattern carefully or you'll get a lopsided heart!

its on redhearts.com/free pattern it the pattern for the mobile- the 'lace;' is my own invention, instead of sewing the 2 hearts together and stuffing them, i crocheted the hearts together 2 double/triple crochet in each pair of stitches and stuffed it as i went along made them easier to stuff too!

Thank you for this beautiful little pattern. Love the white you put all around. If I understand correctly, the white is 2 double crochet by stitches all around? Love the finishing touch. ;)

yes, just enough to give it a bit of a ruffle and easier than sewing the hearts together, stuff it when theres maybe 3 inches open, then crochet it closed, i like to make things easy!! glad you liked them i made another half dozen for us as well!
