What advice would you give someone starting this project? I prefer to draw on tinted paper, then the white highlights at the end really stand out. Great class, really enjoyed the anatomical details, helps with the visualization

great work.

Your portrait of Gary is very good. You have captured a likeness I envy. I can only assume the other portrait is as good at capturing the likeness. Either way it is a very nice picture. I wondered about using tinted paper. I've done a few portraits on grey toned paper using charcoal pencils - including white. I like the control vs. the vine and willow charcoal. My attempt for this class was with the suggested materials but I feel I didn't control them very well. What did you use for both of these drawings?
